iCPU Shutdown is a software that allows you to set a time to automatically shutdown/restart/logoff your computer.

From the Author :
But the real novelty in iCPU Shutdown is the possibility to execute actions in function of 2 new parameters. For example, you can program a Hibernation of your PC according to the CPU Usage or to the Traffic on Internet. These parameters are specially useful when you don't know the time that will take a process to finish. For example, if your hard disk is defragmenting, or Cpu is processing long video edition sessions, or conversion, iCPU Shutdown will detect the moment in which the microprocessor (CPU) stops and then it will turn off the system.

The same criteria can be applied for transferring data among computers, via Internet or an internal net (LAN). iCPU Shutdown can monitor the incoming and outgoing traffic and carry out the selected action (Power Off, Hibernate etc. etc.) in the moment that traffic ceases. Imagine that you are sharing MP3 music files with some of the most popular exchange programs used in Internet, such as AudioGalaxy, WinMx, Napster, Kazaa or any other one. You may go to sleep peacefully leaving the computer on, sending and/or receiving files. When the exchange is over, iCPU Shutdown will turn off your computer completely if it was programmed this way.

Of course, you can make a conventional action of the type: "Power off my computer in 2 hours and 15 minutes" or "Restart my computer every Wednesday at 22:00 o'clock". Scheduled tasks are allowed until 99 days, 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds.

Other existing programs have this capability, although many of them don't really get their purpose. I have been able to prove some of that; instead of turning off my PC, they simply show a screen with a message: "It's now safe to turn off your computer". Or they stop the process because a certain program doesn't close, or some open document has not been saved. So my PC continued working, shortening the life of its components and consuming energy during hours!.
