HDPVRCapture enables you to record SD or HD H.264/AAC/AC3 via the Hauppauge HDPVR 1212 on the Mac. No frills, no GUI, it’s hardcore! If you like hardcode then v1.x is a command line only tool. If you want an attractive UI then v2 is for you. Both are available for download form this site.
The application contains a device driver, a capture application and some .mp4 conversion tools. You can playback the recordings in VLC, Plex and other Mac applications. The application is shipped in a .zip archive and normally installs to your $HOME/hdpvr folder, or for the UI you can drag it into your Applications folder as normal. It’s your choice!
