The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 15th December 2012 is in. Ted was the best seller on Blu-ray for the week, but it also included two other "A-listers" in The Bourne Legacy and Ice Age: Continental Drift,
Despite the box office numbers for the three new releases being 44% higher than the new releases from the same week a year ago, total disc sales revenue was down 5% compared to the same week. Some of it can be attributed to digital streaming and downloads, but that's still quite an unexpected drop.
