The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 1st December 2012 is in. The Cyber Monday sales week helped both Blu-ray and DVD revenue to stay at a high level compared to the rest of the year (Black Friday week excluded), and the new release of Men in Black 3 helped Blu-ray more than DVD, as almost 3 in 5 copies of the film was purchased in a Blu-ray or combo package.

Compared to the same Cyber Monday week last year, Blu-ray revenue is up a healthy 17%, but DVD revenue declined by more than $21 million. Overall spending was down more than 5%, but as these stats don't include digital downloads and streaming, total home video spending most likely rose compared to 2011.
