The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 3rd September 2011 is in. Officially the worst week, Blu-ray market share wise, in 2011. The week's best selling Blu-ray title was Sons of Anarchy: Season Three.
But the poor Blu-ray performance was perhaps to be expected, since historically speaking, September does seem to be the worst month for Blu-ray. And despite the Blu-ray market share low point, it was still higher than the same week last year, in both market share and revenue. But with Star Wars coming in a few weeks, September could also be the best week ever for Blu-ray, as this sought after (despite controversies) Blu-ray exclusive should help Blu-ray sales skyrocket.
