The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 4th June 2011 has just been posted. Again, there were only two new releases this week, and neither can be rated as A-list releases. True Blood: Season 3 was the best performing new release of the week on Blu-ray, with Drive Angry in second place and being the only other new release in the top 20.
Comparing this week to the same week a year ago shows a huge decline in both Blu-ray and DVD revenue, as well as a decline in Blu-ray market share, but this is only because Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was the top release back then, definitely an A-list title, and one of the better performers on Blu-ray for 2010.
