The Blu-Ray Disc Founders (BDF) organisation is to rename and open up membership to new firms. The new group, dubbed the Blu-Ray Disc Association (BDA), will hope to expand the current 13 members BDF and to gain further industry support in its fight against the DVD Forum and their rival HD-DVD format.

So it looks increasing like the future of high-definition DVD will be a fight between the DVD Forum and the BDA, and unless one side capitulates early, the future for high-definition DVDs look bleak.
