Editing PUOs (Prohibited User Operations)

Using the PGC Editor, you may edit the PUOs for an individual PGC (compared to the PUO Plugin, which allows you to set them for the whole domain).

Each PUO is explained in more detail here.

When selected, each of these options places a restriction on specific operations during the playback of the PGC.  For example, in the diagram above, you may not:

·         Go directly to a title from this PGC by pressing the title number on your remote

·         Go to the Sub-picture, audio, angle or chapter menus from this PGC by pressing those buttons on your remote

·         Select a button

·         Change the audio stream (but you can change the subpicture stream)

·         Change the angle

·         Change the karaoke audio mix; and

·         Change the video mode (4:3 to 16:9)

The PUO settings are stored as a 25 bit binary number with each of the bits representing one PUO on-off setting (1 is on, 0 is off). The figures in brackets are the decimal representation of this binary number when only the bit in question is set.

Multiple PUO settings can therefore be derived by adding these numbers together. As a shortcut, the figure arrived at may be entered in the numeric field to the left of the PUO Selector Button which will set the desired combination of PUOs without having to alter them individually.  Or you may enter this number by clicking “Input Value”.

Note: Removal of the angle PUO can cause certain standalone players to display the “angle” icon during playback. Removal of the angle PUO whilst permitted is therefore not recommended.
