Quick AVI Creator (QAC) is a FREEWARE, easy to use front-end, which uses several GNU licensed applications to convert video from DVD / MPEG / AVI / MKV sources, to AVI / MKV / MP4 containers by using either XviD or x264 encoders.
Supported up to 2 audio tracks with formats AC3 / DTS / PCM / MPEG / WMA / AAC / OGG either for converting or direct copying according to the provided source and the desired output.
Supported up to 1 subtitle track, either internal DVD and MKV subtitles or external text subtitles with formats Subripper (srt), MicroDVD (sub), Sub Station Alpha (ssa/ass) and VobSub ripped subtitles (idx-sub).
The extra goal of the Quick AVI Creator is the absolute tuning of the output.
To accomplish this goal, QAC uses AvsP which is the main difference between Quick AVI Creator and other video conversion front-ends.
Therefore you have the full control of the generated Avisynth script, thus you take advantage of every feature that the Avisynth offers. You will be able to preview the output, trim, resize, deinterlace, if necessary, modify the frame rate, or add Avisynth filters (such as denoise).
System Requirements
Obviously a proper decoding filter for decompressing AVI, DivX, XviD, etc. should be installed.
Even if you already have one, my suggestion is ffdshow which has been tested and verified that QAC works smoothly with this.
Supported Windows 2000 and above versions. Windows 7 not tested though.
At least a Power User account is required. (Admin account is recommended).
Certain programs so called "Internet Security suites", may need to be trained in order to allow certain background activities when QAC launching the several included applications (tools). Version 2.4.12.2009

In order to accomplish this transformation, the
application rewritten almost from scratch.
Please do not try to install QAC on any computer
which running any version below Windows 2000.

The language which is selected during the installation
is the selected language for the QAC as well.

popup console window which also caused occasionally the
video encoder to be launched in a separate console window.

contains multiple video streams. Now the first detected
video stream is selected by default.
- Bug fixed: Incorrect mp3 sound extraction from MKV input
caused an unexpected error.
- Bug fixed: Invalid input file occured when attempting to
load an input source from an UNC path.
- Added: Support for Vorbis audio extraction from MKV source
either for transcoding or direct copying depending on the
desired output container.
- Added: OggDec v1.9.6 (GNU-GPL).
- Updated: x264 to version r1139.
- Updated: Valdec to version 0.2a.
- Updated: Mp4Box to version 0.4.6.0.
- Updated: Faac to version 1.2.8.0.
- Updated: Faad to version 2.7.0.0.
- Updated: Lame to current version 3.98.2 instead of 3.98b.
- Installer: New interface with language selection dialog.

Regarding on the chosen input and output, applied the optimal related options. However most of the applied options are able to change by the user while few others are mandatory.
