The results and analysis for Blu-ray (and DVD) sales for the week ending 19th March 2011 has just been posted. Blu-ray revenue and market share fell compared to the previous week, mainly due to the Blu-ray exclusive Bambi selling less well, while there was a Barbie movie release that managed to be the second best DVD seller, but it wasn't available on DVD. The Fighter's good performance on Blu-ray helped to offset these two factors slightly.
There was a large decline in both DVD and Blu-ray revenue compared to the same week last year, when the then latest Twilight movie was released on Blu-ray and DVD (with the DVD version doing very well).
