Due to a low demand on their previous attempt at a rental service, YouTube is now looking for new content from larger more known providers

YouTube experimented with a new rental service that allowed users to rent independent films from Sundance but, was unsuccessful due to low demand.

Now they are looking to expand the video rental program with a number of more known content providers.  Rumor has it that quite of few providers have already signed up.

The rental program, which is currently in beta, will have content ranging from fitness to travel videos,

The price of the rentals and the length of the viewing windows appears to be different for each publisher.
