Nintendo, which has been the reigning champion of the gaming consoles for some time, has finally felt the effects of a weakening economy.

For the first time in years, Nintendo actually reported a 66% drop in operating profit (about $425 million loss).

Part of the decrease in sales is not the recessions fault but, merely lack of hit game titles available on the Wii and PSP.

They are hoping the sales from Wii Sports Resort, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, and Wii Fit Plus can give them the boost they are looking for.
