PS3 Gets Firmware Updated to 2.70

Sony has issued a new firmware update for the PlayStation 3 that allows a friends list on XMB, larger file attachments, and a video delivery service on the PlayStation Store.

PS3 users will now be able to back up videos you have purchased to an external storage device and then restore back to the PS3's internal hard drive for playback.

Also, videos purchased for your PSP can now be transferred to your PS3 for playback.
