Secrets, Hacks, and Tips for your XBOX

Do you remember when you found out you could hit up, down, up, down, left, right, left, right, A, B, start would give you infinite lives in Contra on the original Nintendo? Well here are seven secrets on the XBOX platform that could come in handy.
- Update your XBOX via a disc - Download the latest update to a blank CD then put it in your XBOX and follow the prompts
- Revive from red rings of death - Wrap the console in a towel or two - ensuring all sides of it are covered - then turn it on and leave it running for 10 minutes or so. Then turn it off, remove the towels, turn it on again and pray. However if it works, it'll only stay alive for a few hours. *Not Liable for damaged consoles, try at your own risk*
- Clear the cache of the hard drive - Head to the System blade, select memory, HD, then press Y. Next, hit X, X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X and X. You should get a message about maintenance. *Caution* - This will delete any game patches too
- Browse the web - One of the most common ways to achieve this is by using the MCE Browser plug-in, Use your Media Center PC, and then use your 360 as a Media Extender.
- Stream Netflix Movies - *For only US XBOX 360 owners* Using Windows Media Center and a free third party plug-in called vmcNetflix you can stream downloaded Netflix movies
- Make your XBOX Quieter - *You will void your warranty if you do this* Replace the coolings fans or buy the Lian Li XB-01 aftermarket case (will not make the DVD drive quieter)
