It is estimated that the LCD (Liquid Crystal Display) TV will reign over all other by 2009
At the beginning of the high definition TV war, there was Plasma *VS* LCD TV's. Both were accompanied by hundreds of different pros and cons, ranking the other better in certain areas. There was really not a clear definite winner.
LCD's with their cheaper price tag, matching video quality, and bigger size (that still costs less), have narrowed that gap considerably and analyst say LCD TV's will dominate the TV market by 2009.
