Scavenger-region-set is a program which is able to set the driveregions for all agid 3 drives. You can set your drive's region to 0, which may work with certain software DVD players and allow you to playback movies from other regions - please read the included Readme file for more information. It also allows you to change the region setting (see below), and allow you to set the drive to region 0, which may work with certain DVD players (PowerDVD, I think) to playback DVDs from all regions (ie. region-free). Region 0 drives won't work with ALL DVD players.
Please note that this utility will decrease the number of changes available (region change counter) for your drive everytime you use it to change region-settings - most RPC-2 DVD-ROM drives only have 4 or 5 region changes available, after which, the drive will not allow you to change the region anymore (and hence, when your region change counter reaches 0, this utility will no longer work).
