Thanks for the tips James. Back when I wrote this, the 8800 GT wasn't announced yet, and I do agree that it's a much better card than the 8800 GTS (not just raw performance, but efficiency and the all important HD video acceleration support). I liked the 8800 GT so much, I wrote a blog entry just for it here:

<a href="http://www.digital-digest.com/blog/DVDGuy/2007/10/31/geforce-8800-gt-the-card-everyones-been-waiting-for/" rel="nofollow">http://www.digital-digest.com/blog/DVDGuy/2007/10/31/geforce-8800-gt-the-card-everyones-been-waiting-for/</a>

I would get the 8800 GT 512mb.....that sucker runs better than the 8800 GTS with 640mb at about $50 bucks less and those SLI bridged.....OMFG!!!!!
Start with a Q6600 Quad Core that processor is nice and worth every penny.
Is that the Corsair Dominator XMS2? The latency should be 4-4-4-12.
DVD writer get one that is a cheap price, cause you can always replace it and they all run the same.
Good Choice of the Barracuda HDD!!!
I'm a fan of the 680 SLI A1 motherboard. That bastard you can overclock like crazy!!! Best set up and the only one you can work with the Quad core but it will do the same for the Dual Core E6750, but if you are paying this much get the Quad Core!!!
